With the increase of population and industrialization and changes in the consumption trends of the population, the types and quantities of domestic solid waste increase in our country continuously, which could have dangerous results in terms of environmental and human health. For this reason, it is very important to manage the solid waste with an appropriate management system in accordance with the legislation in force.

 

In our plant located within the borders of Sakarya City, solid waste is disposed in landfill. An integrated solid waste management system has been established which includes recycling and recovery. Thus, the recyclable waste is recovered to the national economy, the combustible waste is separated and used in the production of fuel derived from waste. The biogas is produced from the organic part of the waste by biomethanization and this biogas is burned to be converted into electricity and heat energy. The remaining waste is dewatered to produce compost and/or fertilizer. In addition to these benefits, the life of the solid waste landfill will be extended at the end of the operation.
